13 villages of Narmada bank under Vadodara district warned, NDRF team called

4,12,705 cusec water is released from the Sardar Sarovar Dam into the river in the afternoon on Saturday.

In view of that a total of 13 villages of Vadodara district, which includes six in Karjan taluka of Vadodara district, 4 in Shinor taluka and 3 in Dabhoi taluka have been instructed to take full precaution and not to go to the river bank. The situation is being closely monitored by Kiran Zaveri, District Collector of Hawala.

Giving information Resident Additional Collector D.R. Patel said, the water released in Narmada is likely to affect Pura, Alampura, Lilaipura, Nani and Moti Coral in Karjan taluka and Juna Sayar, Madhi Devasthan in Shinor taluka, Ansuya Mandir, Malsar and Barkaal as well as Chandod, Karnali and Nanderia villages in Dabhoi taluka. Villages have been alerted by the Taluka Mamlatdar as well as Taluka Development Officers regarding the situation. The concerned SDM is closely monitoring the situation.

He further said that as part of preventive step, necessary instructions have been given to keep a team of NDRF ready, which will come today. At 2 pm, 4,12,705 cusecs of water was released into the river from Sardar Sarovar by RBPH and CHPH. The inflow of water at that time was 3,22,981 cusec.
