More than 18.69 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in country so far

More than 18.69 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the country so far. These include over 96.85 lakh Health Care Workers who have taken the 1st dose and more than 66.67 lakh Health Care Workers who have taken the 2nd dose.

Apart from that over 1.46 crore Frontline Workers have taken the 1st dose and more than 82 lakh Frontline Workers have taken the 2nd dose.

The Ministry said, more than 5.49 crore people above 60 years have taken the 1st dose and more than 1.80 crore citizens have taken the 2nd dose.

The Union Health Ministry said that more than 11.45 lakh beneficiaries were inoculated with COVID-19 vaccine doses till 8 P.M. on Wednesday.

Out of these, more than 9.91 lakh beneficiaries were vaccinated for 1st dose and more than 1.53 lakh beneficiaries received their 2nd dose of the vaccine.

The Ministry said, more than 5.27 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18 to 44 years received their first dose of COVID vaccine during the day and cumulatively over 70.12 lakh across 36 States and Union Territories.

The Liberalised and Accelerated Phase-3 Strategy of COVID-19 Vaccination has come into force from 1st of this month.
