Felicitated the Corona warriors, launched Drug Free India Campaign in Vadodara

Minister of State for Narmada Development Yogeshbhai Patel hoisted the Indian National Flag at the Railway Police Parade Ground in Vadodara on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day of the country.

He paid homage to the martyrs of the War of Independence and congratulated the citizens of the city and district on Independence Day and lauded the work of the Corona Warriors in all areas.

On this occasion he honored the invited Corona Warriors from the Health Department.  He also started the campaign for addiction free youth and society building started in 272 districts of the country under the initiative of Government of India, in Vadodara from today.  He congratulated team Vadodara for keeping Vadodara district at the forefront of development.

Expressing the feeling that Independence Day is a day of joy and pride for all of us, the Minister said that the growing participation of Gujarat youth in the country’s armies is a matter of joy.

He said that the country’s performance in resisting the Corona challenge has been lauded in the world, while under the leadership of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, Gujarat has been working tirelessly to save the lives of the people and to address the economic challenges posed by the Corona.

 With the implementation of the Rs 50 lakh crore self-reliance package announced by the Government of India, Gujarat has implemented two self-reliance packages on its own.  He said that state has successfully faced disasters in the past and even Corona cannot scare the Gujarat.

The vigilant efforts of the state government have resulted in a significant reduction in mortality today. In Gujarat, the recovery rate of corona patients has increased to 77%.  The state government has repatriated the workers by running 1000 trains and has given a new direction to the welfare of the farmers by implementing the scheme of providing free benefit of crop insurance protection umbrella to the farmers.

He made a special request to the people of Vadodara city and district to protect their health by following the rule of wearing masks, making it a habit to wash their hands and sanitize and maintain social distance and contribute to the protection of everyone’s health.

He said that in order to keep the people of Vadodara city and district safe against Corona, necessary facilities including 5,000 beds and ventilators have been provided in phases at the local level with the guidance and backing of the state government and treatment has been properly coordinated with private hospitals.

 Rs 15 crore has been received from the relief fund of the Chief Minister and Rs 5 crore has been received by the health department which makes it a total amount of Rs 20 crore allotted to Vadodara.

Health services are being made available to the people near their homes by a total of 66 health sanjeev chariots in Vadodara district and in the city. The health survey is done to stop the spread of corona.

He lauded the arrangements made by the district administration for draining the rain water from the roofs of the houses of about one thousand primary schools in the district  under the Rain Water Project. He congratulated District Collector Shalini Agarwal and team Vadodara for this achievement.

He said that in view of the Corona crisis, under the sensible planning of the Chief Minister, the Supply Department has distributed free foodgrains to the population under 7.19 lakh ration cards in Vadodara city and district and provided food kits to 1.35 lakh children benefiting from mid-day meal. 

Under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, cooking gas connection has been provided to 19782 eligible families in Vadodara district.

The Minister lauded everyone’s work in helping the people during the Lock Down and paid homage to the Corona warriors who sacrificed their lives during duty.

He gave a detailed account of the multi-faceted development plans of the Government of India and the State Government, including farmer welfare, urban development, infrastructural development.

He also planted saplings along with others remain present there. On this occasion MP Ranjan Bhatt, MLAs Jitubhai Sukhadia, Manisha Vakil, Seema Mohile and office bearers, District Collector Shalini Agarwal, Range IG HG Patel, Commissioner of Police R.B. Brahmbhatt, District Development Officer Kiran Zaveri and other top officials, employees, people and Corona warriors were remain present at the celebrations.
