Middle aged man died in crocodile attack near Phulwadi village Chandod

A middle aged man went inside Orsang river for bathing died in a crocodile attack on Wednesday evening. The incident happened near Phulwadi village at pilgrimage site Chandod.

As per available details Kantibhai Valjibhai of Phulwadi village entered in the Vasava river when the crocodile dragged him into the river. With his powerful jaws the crocodile dragged him from the river bank to the shore of Bhalodra village on the opposite bank.

The crocodile in the brutal attack, bit the the body and whole left hand of the man. The youths rushed to the river bank of Bhalodra and hit the crocodile with wooden stick to rescue the body from its jaws.

Late on Wednesday evening, the youths of Chandod went to the opposite shore with the help of a boat and brought the body. Chandod police took possession of the body and began investigation in the matter.

Locals raised demand to Forest Department to catch three to four giant crocodiles present in Orsang river bed.
