On Thursday the city markets resumed again on the auspicious day of Labh Pancham after closed for Diwali vacation. The traders reached their shops and after the puja started their business once again in the auspicious muhurat. With markets open the city roads are once again buzzing with traffic.

Sanjaybhai Brahmbhatt, who runs a utensil store in Navabazaar in Vadodara city said, there has been a slowdown in the business in the year of Vikram Samvat 2076. Corona is responsible for the downturn in the business. Till Diwali there was no business as usual and unemployment is also one of the reason for the downturn. Hopefully, Vikram Samvat-2077 will be good and after five days the markets have started once again.

Apart from this, the wedding season is starting from Dev Uthi Agiyaras. Merchants are hopeful that business will flourish during the wedding season. But if the economic downturn does not improve, the situation of small and big traders will worsen. Many merchants will have to close their businesses or will be forced to change. Lack of business also makes it difficult to calculate showroom rent, electricity bills, and people’s salaries.

Shops and showrooms were started by traders after the auspicious New Year and the roads are once again came to life. Many traders starts their business on the auspicious day after decorated their shops and showrooms with flowers. They hope that the coming time will be beneficial for everyone and help them meet ends.
