Marathon for awareness about organ donation

Sunday 5th March 2017, Vadodara will run for a cause to spread the awareness about organ donation.

The SoleFest- Daudo Dil Se is a long distance running event organised on sunday by HCG Cancer Institute and Spandan Hospital, with an aim to generate awareness on the noble aspect of Organ donation. The idea behind the event is to have a non-timed, comfort paced run for the running fraternity of Vadodara, and link it with a cause close to everyones heart - Organ Donation.

The event has two running categories - 10Kms and 21kms Half Marathon. The running route shall commence from Sun Pharma road to OP Road and Bhayili road and back.The running shall begin at 530 am and end at HCG Cancer Institute by 930am. Participants shall sport a special awareness t-shirt bearing a slogan to consider organ donation.

While running, the participants will spread the message to onlookers. Numerous and noted organ donation agencies of Vadodara a re participating in this event so that the person who is interested can know more about donating organs such as eyes, kidney, heart, liver and whole body donation.

The event is a brainchild of Dr Rajesh Chauhan of Spandan Hospital, who is a seasoned runner himself. The event shall see support from members of the medical fraternity and runners from Baroda Road Runners group.

Those finishing the 10KM and 21KM distance shall be given finishers medal as well as complimentary breakfast. All registered participants shall be given a dry-fit running t-shirt bearing the SoleFest logo.
