New lines, gauge conversion, doubling, yard modeling and passenger amenities are some of areas mentioned in this year budget

In the recent railway budget many works are included in the Pink book as far as Vadodara division is concerned. New lines, gauge conversion, doubling, yard modeling and passenger amenities are some of the areas mentioned in this year budget.

Government sanctioned 100 crore fund for 157 kilometers new line between Chhota Udepur and Dhar. Gauge conversion of 96.46km of Miyagam-Karjan-Dabhoi-Samlaya, 15 crore sanctioned for Gauge conversion with electrification of Dabhoi-Chandod with extension upto Kevadiya for which the sanctioned fund is 150 cr for 49.75 km.

Other lines for gauge conversion are Samni-Jambusar (24.08 km), Jambusar-Vishvamitri (48.2 km),

Samlaya-Timba Road (53.53 km), Nadiad-Petlad (37.26 km) and

Petlad-Bhadran (22.5 km) by the government.

As far as doubling of tracks are concerned

Surat-Kosamba (Phase-I) of 35 km and 75 km of Anand-Godhra route is sanctioned in the budget. Under Traffic facilities, yard remodelling and others, Vadodara Yard - Segregation of Ahmedabad and Godhra,

Raising speed upto 160 kmph/200 kmph on existing New Delhi -Mumbai route (incl. Vadodara-Ahmedabad) with a mission to achieve a travel time of 12 hours between Delhi to Mumbai.

As far as passenger amenities are concerned

Vadodara - Augmentation of train watering facilities on platform No.1-6, extension, raising and covered sheds of 12 stations under Vadodara division and provision of lifts

(5 each, total 30 Nos) at Mumbai Central, Vadodara, Ratlam, Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Bhavnagar.
