Prashant Chandak 29 from Maharashtra spend all his savings to give the elderly a home of their choice while they are away from their families. The residence is having all the ultramodern facilities along with personal care to make them feel comfortable like living in their own house.

Informing about this, Prashant Chandak, Founder, Dear Zindagi Senior Care, said, “I am originally from Maharashtra and some time ago I realized that people living in Gujarat, especially in cities like Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat, think more about going abroad and settling down. They wish that their parents live in some good place. That’s when I decided to invest my five years of savings in serving the elderly. To make this idea meaningful, I took a house in Abhishek Society in the area and built an old age home in 3 months. I have lived in a joint family, which is why I know the importance of being together. So I will never help this old age home in the form of a trust. Only money will be taken from the people living here rest I will nurture this home like a child only by money earn from my job”.

Various activities will be held throughout the week for the people living here to make them comfortable like home. Film will be shown to the elders living here every Friday and Bhajan Sandhya will be organized on Saturday. In addition, Antakshari and Housey will also be played. Along with this, an on-call doctor facility has been set up keeping in view the health of everyone. Along with this, health monitoring is done periodically and the details are given to their family members. So that everyone can be well taken care of. A garden and a temple have also been built on campus to provide a home-like environment for the elderly. Libraries and CCTV cameras have also been installed for their safety.

Prashant Chandak works as Manager in Morgan Stanley and spend his Six years savings in this old age home. He starts the home from 1st December and presently three people two females and one male all above 80 years are living here.
In view of the Corona era the caretakers are not allowed to move outside and lives here with the occupants. Outsiders are also not allowed to enter beyond the garden and proper care will be taken to ensure safety of all.

Presently 15 rooms are there in the home and five will be added soon. Chandak also wish to open more such homes in future and give elderlies a home full of love and care.
