Historical Sayajibaug turns 137 years old

One of the favorite and beautiful place in Vadodara the Sayajibaug turned 137 years old on Sunday and still maintains it’s more than century old charm in everyone’s heart. The morning walkers group celebrate the occasion by cutting the cake and thanked the Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad Third for this precious gift to the people of Vadodara.

Every day people of every age turned up inside the historic garden for morning walk, jogging and relax themselves before the start of hectic day. Full of trees, Flowers, small gardens, sculptures, light music and fresh morning air inside, Sayajibaug still continues it’s popularity among the people.

On its 137 birthday the morning walkers group celebrate the birthday by cutting the cake and paid their respects to the Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad Third for this beautiful gift to them.

“I am a frequent visitor to the garden for many years and it’s always very rejuvenating here and I forget all the tensions between the nature. As the garden provide us the healthy air and taking care of our health so it’s our duty to celebrate the birthday of our beloved member of the family. We also take this opportunity to thanked the Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad Third for giving us this memorable gift,” said Vijay Wadhvani member of morning walkers group.

Vijay Wadhvani also make a poem or documentary on the lines of Khushboo Gujarat Ki and invite every one to feel the energy.

Another member of the group Elizabeth said that they are celebrating the birthday of the garden every year but for the first time they celebrate it on a grand stage. She said they are preparing for the occasion and the garden in like their home.

The historical garden spread in 45 hectares of land and one of the popular spot and the identity of Vadodara. The Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad Third built the garden in 1879 and gives the beautiful gift to the people of Vadodara.

The garden has some beautiful treasures like museums, zoo, Sardar patel planetarium and flower clock which spreads in 20 meters area and is the first one in Gujarat. The toy train for the kids and their parents is one of the attractions along with the sculptures, open amphitheatre and many other things are worth to watch. Many bollywood movie sequences were also shot inside the historical garden.
