Threaten to stop everyone till their demands resolved

The decision to cremate Covid 19 patients at Vasna cemetery in Vadodara has sparked a controversy. After preventing the medical staff from cremate the body on Tuesday night, the locals once again gathered at the crematorium and demand the administration to change the decision.

On Tuesday night the locals did not allow the funeral of a patient who died from a suspected corona. They stopped the ambulance at the entrance and had heated arguments with the medical and police staff. They demand to repair the crematorium first and protest. Finally the ambulance left for another crematorium.

Vadodara administration has identified four crematoriums in Vadodara city having Gas funeral pyre to cremate the patients died of positive and suspected Covid 19. Akota, Vasna, Gotri and Khaswadi crematoriums are identified by the VMC where the bodies are cremated as per Covid 19 guidelines. However due to the dilapidated condition of the Vasana cemetery, the people living there had earlier demanded to repair the pyre and chimney. Amid this the locals protested on Tuesday and demand to repair the crematorium.

On Wednesday once again locals gathered at the Vasna crematorium to staged their protest against the administration decision to cremate the Covid 19 and suspected patients inside. They threaten to stop everyone comes there to cremate Covid 19 patients till their demands are not resolved.
