Western Railway's Security department is continuously striving to facilitate enhanced comfort and security of its passengers. The RPF also plays a vital role to ensure security and safety of their luggage & belongings.
In this very direction, the RPF has returned left behind luggage of passengers worth more than Rs. 2 Cr from January to October 2021. Alok Kansal - General Manager of Western Railway has applauded the RPF personnel for their diligence, integrity & dedication towards safeguarding the passengers as well as their belongings.
According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur- Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, in the current year upto the month of October 2021, the RPF staff has handed over lost or missing luggage in 1037 cases worth over Rs. 2 Cr. This was made possible because of the alertness of the security staff.
In view of the increasing number of passengers on trains and stations, new initiatives are being implemented from security point of view, such as installation of HD CCTV cameras at stations and station premises of Western Railway. With the help of technology, RPF team of Western Railway is handing over valuable property of passengers after due scrutiny of the rightful owner.
