New Update

Mumbai, is all set to get its first elevated forest walkway. From here, guests would be able to enjoy stunning views of the Arabian Sea. The walkway, which is inspired by Singapore's famous forest walkways, is an ambitious project.

It will also connect Kamala Nehru Park to Doongerwadi woods. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning this eco-friendly initiative which promises an amazing and scenic walking experience.

The forest is built in Malabar Hill region of Mumbai. This 705-meter-long elevated walkway is an awesome forest landscape. It will allow walkers to enjoy uninterrupted views of the Arabian Sea.

The walkway's wooden structure is carefully designed to blend with the natural surroundings, ensuring minimal disruption to water flow along the hill slopes and the movement of wildlife.

One of the prime features of this place is its birdwatching area. From here, visitors will be able to observe the region's diverse avian life. There is also a glass-bottom deck offering beautiful views of the forest below.

The entry and exit points for the walkway are located at Siri Road, right behind Kamala Nehru Park.

The wooden deck merges with the green landscape, showcasing a thoughtful approach to both urban development and environmental conservation.

The walkway is being developed with a budget of INR 25 crore. Despite several challenges, the forest is ready.

Nevertheless, nearly 90% of the civil work has been completed, and the remaining tasks—such as electrification, painting, and the construction of restrooms and ticket counters—are currently underway.

The BMC aims to complete the walkway by the end of this year, just in time for the New Year celebrations.

This elevated forest walkway will not only offer a refreshing urban escape but will also represent a significant step in Mumbai's commitment to sustainable urban development, providing a perfect blend of nature and modernity for its residents.
