IAF's Tejas fighter jet crashes in Jaisalmer

A Tejas fighter aircraft crashed in Jaisalmer during a training sortie, the Indian Air Force said. The pilot ejected safely, the IAF said.

The home-grown Tejas is a single-engine multi-role fighter aircraft capable of operating in high-threat air environments. It has been designed to undertake air defence, maritime reconnaissance and strike roles.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook a sortie on the indigenously built light combat fighter aircraft Tejas in Bengaluru recently.
