The India-UAE airfare reached Rs 37,000 (1,814 Dirham) in December 2021, and now costs around Rs 13,660 (Dirham 665) one-way.

"In October, I had paid approximately Rs 45,000 for me and my infant for a commercial flight, so I am happy as price fares have dropped for my returning flight," said Fatima, a woman who travelled to UAE in December.

Official sources claim that as the country opened its doors to vaccinated residents, flight fares skyrocketed. In addition, the UAE gained tourists as a result of Expo 2020 Dubai. One-way fares from Indian cities such as Hyderabad, Kozhikode, Kochi, and Delhi were as high as Dirham 2,000 (Rs 40,373) approaching the departure date in October 2021, according to ticket agents.

From February 14, the Indian government waived the seven-day quarantine for international visitors. All overseas travellers will, however, be required to do a pre-travel RT-PCR test that is valid for 72 hours before departure. India has prolonged the suspension of scheduled foreign commercial passenger services until February 28. According to the country's aviation authority, flights under the air bubble arrangement will be unaffected.

Airlines began flying to additional destinations in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to accommodate rising travel demand. Direct flights to Kochi, Kozhikode, and Thiruvananthapuram have been launched by Air Arabia Abu Dhabi. Go First, an Indian low-cost carrier, now flies between Srinagar and Sharjah four times a week.
