New Update

Air India has introduced its new wide-body flagship—the Airbus A350 aircraft on the Delhi-New York route, marking its ultra long-haul debut.

The A350 is the first new aircraft type to be inducted by an Indian carrier in over a decade.

The development also marks the initiation of deployment of the A350 on Air India’s non-stop flights to North America, and the airline is set to use the aircraft on the Delhi-Newark route from January 2.

The airline also announced that it will launch in the coming weeks inflight Wi-Fi service on international flights operated by the A350.

Most of Air India’s ultra long-haul flights are operated using the Boeing 777 aircraft, a number of which are in a rundown state and have resulted in the airline receiving brickbats from flyers.

Air India’s existing wide-body aircraft fleet comprises a large number of older legacy planes that were inducted when it was under government control.
