According to communication, Air India and AirAsia India have reached an agreement to carry each other's passengers in the event of a disruption in operations. The Tata Group owns and operates both airlines.
The agreement, which will be in force for two years starting this month, would allow Air India and AirAsia airport teams to offer alternative first available flights to passengers to minimise inconvenience.
According to the letter, the two carriers have entered into an IROPS (Irregular Operations) arrangement through a contract, which allows passengers to be transferred to each other's aircraft in the event of a disruption in operations.
