Former Chief Minister of Kerala Oommen Chandy was hospitalised at Noorul Islam Institute of Medical Science and Research Foundation (NIMS) in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday evening.

He was admitted with high fever and was diagnosed with pneumonia.

His son shared his health update and said that the former CM was diagnosed with slight pneumonia and hospitalised with a high fever.

He also thanked Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had called up and enquired about his father’s health.

Kerala Health Minister Veena George today reached the hospital to meet the ailing ex-CM and enquired about his health.

The Health Minister met his daughter and doctors today at the hospital.

Earlier, the CM had himself shared a Facebook post debunking rumours about his health.

Earlier, his 42 close relatives, including a sibling, had petitioned CM Pinarayi Vijayan seeking urgent intervention to ensure the best possible treatment for Oommen.

They had alleged that Oommen Chandy was being “denied” proper treatment and his health is deteriorating every minute.

Amid the controversy, his son had earlier posted two videos of him on social media where he said that he is being given excellent treatment by the party and family members.
