The whole nation is celebrating Ganpati festival with devotion and enthusiasm and everywhere it’s the festive spirit that shows the cultural unity of the country. Vadodara is also indulged in the same spirit of celebrating Ganesh festival and like every year we can witness the different themes showcased in the pandals.

Rasoi Show fame Chef Aanal Kotak’s luxury dine restaurant, The Secret Kitchen also welcome Lord Ganesha to their premises. The restaurant famous for bringing culture to their cuisine is promoting Eco-friendly Ganesha with a backdrop of Vadodara’s Royal Heritage Laxmi Vilas Palace. The Ganapati Decor is made with fresh plants and not a single item of the decor is against the environment. Even Backdrop of Laxmi Vilas Palace has been made out of the mud.

Chef Aanal Kotak especially made 25 kg modak cake for Ganesha and offer him on the day of Maha Aarti. It is the first time, someone is making and offering 25 kg Modak Cake in Vadodara to Lord Ganesha. Modak Cake is a twist what chef will be giving to traditional modak.

“The cake is the mix of Vanila Sponge, Choclate Sponge, fresh fruit flavour of orange, cream, edible gold dust in the kesar mava Modak. It’s of 25 kgs and probably for the first time to prepare during the festival. I want to prepare something special and unique and hence decide and made Modak the favourite of Lord Ganpati. The Ganpati idol and the decoration is all eco friendly with fresh fruits, dals and various items used in kitchen. We change the decoration every day with special decorations,” said Aanal Kotak.

On Monday, on the 4th day, The Secret Kitchen has announced a special cooking competition for city’s cooking lovers. Cook for Bappa competition is designed for all cooking lovers who want to show their cooking talent. Participants brought Prasad for Ganesha and offered in Maha Aarti. Vadodara Mayor Bharat Dangar took part in Maha Aarti and also cut the Modak cake which later was distributed to the people and the kids. All participants who have enrolled for the competition, their preparation was judged by the selected panel and best dish offered to Bappa awarded certificate and special gift.

The opening of the restaurant caught the city, with the attention of people from all walks of life. The unique way of opening the restaurant with Chef Aanal’s wish to open her first restaurant by hungry kids from Bhookh Mitao Campaign applauded by many. This time on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, She decided to bring Bappa to her restaurant and along with that she called kids from Bhookh Mitao Campaign again and fed them at her restaurant. She said It is sheer joy to see the’ smile on the kids face when they eat at my restaurant. I’m glad to bring that smile on their face.
