The Kuber Bhandari temple at Karnali in Vadodara district was ordered to be closed from July 20 to July 31 due to the increasing transmission of the corona virus. However, following the protests of devotees the state government has ordered the reopening temple from Thursday today.
The world’s only Kuber Bhandari shrine in Karnali in Dabhoi taluka of Vadodara district was closed for visitors by the district administration on July 19. After discussions with the management, it was decided to keep the gates closed from July 20 (Somvati Amavasya) to July 31.
However, devotees were disappointed that the Kuber Bhandari temple was closed during the month of Shravan and they demand to reopen it. As a result after the order of Vadodara district administration, it has been decided to open the temple again on Thursday.
Kuber Bhandari Trust Manager Rajnibhai Pandya said, after the order the Kuber Bhandari temple opens from today and the timing will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. He appealed the devotees to visit the temple as per government guidelines including social distance.
In view of Amavasya and Shravan months, the administrators of Kuber Bhandari Trust made all the necessary arrangements as per the guidelines of the state government. Meanwhile, on July 19, Dabhoi’s deputy collector, police officials came and met the trust’s manager Rajnibhai Pandya and asked him to keep the temple closed till July 31 as per the government’s instructions. So the temple was closed to the devotees. However once again the temple has been reopened following a government order.
