Khalil Dhantejvi died at the age of 82

Poet-journalist, shire and lively man Mr. Khalil Dhantejvi passed away tragically today. He died at the age of 82 from shortness of breath while undergoing treatment. Many ghazals, poems, shayari of Khalil Dhantejvi have been memorized by many generations of the state. Today, his demise has left an indelible mark on the literary world.

The real name of Khalil Dhantejvi, a native of Dhantej, Vadodara, was Ismail Makrani. Khalil Saab, who has read only four books, has also worked as a brilliant journalist in Vadodara. In 2004 he received the Poet Kalapi Award and in 2013 he received the Wali Gujarati Ghazal Award and in the year 2019 he received the Narasimha Mehta Award.
