Comedian-actor Kapil Sharma has complained to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about corruption in the Mumbai civic body and even questioned if these were the “achhe din” (good days) he promised.

Kapil on Friday took to Twitter, where he shared that he has been paying Rs 15 crore income tax for the last five years and has been asked for a Rs 500,000 as bribe by Mumbai’s Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for getting his office done up. He tagged Modi’s Twitter handle @narendramodi in the post.

“I am paying 15 crores income tax from last 5 years and still I have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office Narendra Modi,” Kapil tweeted.

1In another tweet, Kapil asked Modi if these are the “acche din” (better days) he had promised.

“Yeh hain aapke achhe din? Narendra Modi,” he added.

Kapil has been a fan of Narendra Modi and was even nominated as a brand ambassador for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign. He was invited to the Rashtrapati Bhavan by President Pranab Mukherjee in September 2015 to acknowledge his contribution for this.
