    Forrmer Indian batsman Mohammad Kaif will lead the Chhattisgarh state team which will make its Ranji Trophy debut in the upcoming season.

    Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh made the announcement at a press conference in Raipur. The Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh, which was an associate member of the BCCI, was elevated to full-member status after a special general meeting in February this year, paving the way for their Ranji Trophy debut in the forthcoming season. They will be the 29th team to feature in the tournament’s 83rd edition, and will be the tenth team in Group C.

    “Glad to be appointed Chhatisgarh’s first captain. Exciting new journey, look forward to working with young talents,” Kaif took to Twitter to announce the news.
