Jammu and Kashmir cricket team starts practicing in Motibaug cricket ground in Vadodara for the upcoming domestic season. The team practices under the mentorship of local boy and international cricketer Irfan Pathan. Maharaja of Vadodara Samarjitsinh Gaekwad also visited the ground and welcome the players.
In view of the tense situation at the valley the J&K team is willing to move out to practice and finalise Vadodara as their final destination. Their mentor Irfan Pathan plays a big role in the decision and after talked to Maharaja Samarjitsinh Gaekwad the team landed here to practice in peaceful environment for the upcoming domestic season.

On the first day the team sweat it out inside the ground and engaged in catching, batting, bowling, hitting the wicket and make themselves ready for the rigorous practice in coming days. "It's happy to be back in my home ground and practice with the J&K team ahead of the upcoming domestic season. We are searching for the ground to move out from there and thanked Maharaja of Baroda to allow us to use the world class facilities here. Due to a single available ground at Jammu it is difficult for the players to practice and after the discussion with the administrator and CEO of the team we finally landed here in Vadodara," said mentor Irfan Pathan.
He also added that after article 370 was revoked all telephone lines and mobile services are down and there was no option for contact with players. In order to assemble the team they decide to flash advertisement on channels to contact the players.
On the first day of practice Maharaja of Baroda Samarjitsinh Gaekwad visited Motibaug and greet the J&K players. He met everyone and welcomed them to the cultural city. "The association is looking for an alternate ground to practice ahead of the incoming Ranji season and we allow them to use our facilities. We want to help them and happy to welcome the players in Vadodara. The decision is to extend the help for the benefit of cricket and we wish that our little contribution will help the game to grow," said Gaekwad.
The team will practice here under the mentorship of Irfan Pathan and prepare themselves for the upcoming domestic season schedule to start soon.
