Italian couple adopted a girl with special needs in Vadodara

The new year brought some good news for Krupali as now she will be living in Italy after spending years in Special Adoption Centre in Vadodara. The special child was legally adopted by a Italian couple Erinko and Katia in the city in the presence of Collector Shalini Agarwal and officials of the centre.

Krupali is a child with special needs and adopted by the Italian couple from Talamona under Sondrio district. They came to the Special Adoption Centre in Vadodara to complete the legal process and formally adopt the girl. The happiness on the face of girl is clearly visible so as the sadness on the faces of the members of the centre as they see off the girl with whom they live, play, interact with a heavy heart.

Erinko Ventura works in computer science area and Katia Mendhino is a hair stylist in Italy. They lives in a joint family and their father mother is also lives with them. The girl Krupali is lucky enough to get the love of parents as well as the grandparents after moves to a different country.

"To meet Krupali is a blessing from God for the family and finally they come here to adopt her. From here she will move to Mumbai at the Italian Consulate for the Visa procedure and then moves to Italy for the citizenship which will take another five months," said Sara the interpreter with the Italian couple.

Collector Shalini Agarwal recently celebrated Diwali with Krupali and other girls of the centre and on Saturday handover her as a daughter to the Italian couple. "It's a special day for the girl with special needs as she now moves to a new family in Italy. I extend my blessings to the girl for moving to a new home and start her new life. I also thanked the couple for their gesture and adopt the girl with special needs as their daughter in their family. They already provide their family album, pictures of the members, room of Krupali to help the girl to know her family. I wish her a beautiful life ahead," said Agarwal.

The couple decide not to change the name of the girl and she will be identified with her Indian name in Italy. The decision touched everyone at the centre and they thanked the collector and the officials for speeding the process of adoption. Collector also thanked the officials of the centre and inspire them to engage in such activities in future.

Jagruti Patel Co ordination manager said this case is inter country adoption case where Central Adoption Resources Authority also known as CARA looks after the addition process of the children of government adoption centres by the families from India and other countries. The whole procedure is online where the applications from the couples are received by CARA. The adoption agencies all across the country provide data's to CARA and they in turn check and after intense matching process and nod by district adoption centre the couples finally adopt the children.
