Prepare
masks for her village and distribute
In this
challenging times here is a inspiring story of a young NCC cadet who made masks
for her village to help them fight the deadly Coronavirus. Motivated by the
ongoing Exercise NCC Yogdan, Senior Wing NCC Girl Cadet Sergeant Apsara Banu
Khan from 4 Guj.BN stiched masks on her own and distributed them in her village.
Hailing from
a remote village of Vishnoli near Petlad, she alongwith her two sisters
stitched 500 masks for her village and
presented them on 12 May to Sarpanch. There were 200 masks especially stitched
for the more vulnerable children. She continues to stitch these masks through
her own resources.
“There
are around 750 families in my village and all are poor and can’t afford to buy
masks from outside. So I decided to made them by my own and distribute to help
them in this difficult times to fight the deadly disease,” said Sergeant
Apsara Khan.
She
attributes this positive thought to the training of NCC which instills
“Unity & Discipline”- motto of NCC. She is 2nd year student of RK
Parikh Arts & Science College, Petlad. Being the only NCC cadet in her
village she is a role model to many in
the village.
