Rashtriya Ekta Divas “National Unity Day” was celebrated on 31 Oct 19 as a special occasion to foster and reinforce our dedication to preserve and strengthen the unity, integrity and security of our nation.

To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and as a part of “Rashtriya Ekta Divas” celebration, a walkathon for around 05 km. was organised at Porbandar. The event was jointly organised by Indian Coast Guard and Indian Navy from
Cricket Ground to parking area at Chowpati Beach, Porbandar.

Deputy Inspector General Iqbal Singh Chauhan, TM, Commander, Coast Guard District Headquarters, Porbandar and Commodore M Goverdhan Raju, NM, Naval Officer in-Charge (Gujarat) jointly flagged off the event. Around 250 Indian Navy and Coast Guard personnel participated in the event witnessed by huge civilian gathering.

A pledge taking ceremony to administer unity pledge was also organized by Coast Guard District Headquarter Porbandar for all Coast Guard personnel as part of 144th birth anniversary of Iron Man of India.
