As a part of 73rd Army Day Celebrations, Vadodara Military Garrison of Indian Army organised a felicitation ceremony at Station HQ Vadodara on 15 Jan 2021 to felicitate war widows and disabled veterans.

Cheques and gifts were handed over by the
Station Commander to war widows and veterans of Dang, Navsari, Panchmahal and Mahisagar districts. The Station Commander expressed gratitude on behalf of Indian Army for the sacrifices made by soldiers and war widows.

Army Day is celebrated on 15 Jan every year, in recognition of taking over by Field Marshal Kodandera M Cariappa as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief on 15 Jan 1949.

Army Day marks a day to salute and honour the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country and its citizens.
