Indian Air Force AN-32 plane missing, 29 people on board

The Indian Air Force AN-32 aircraft is missing from today morning 22 July.

Total 29 peoples were onboard including 6 crew, it was on its way from Tambaram, Chennai to Port Blair.

Last contact with Indian AirForce AN-32 aircraft was at 8:46AM, flightlevel was at 23000ft dist. covered 1375KM. The transport aircraft lost contact after traveling about 350 km off Chennai.

Search operations are underway to find the missing aircraft. Indian Navy and Indian Air Force started their operation to search and rescue operations. On behalf of search operation one p8 I , one Dornier aircraft and 4 Indian Navy ships are diverted to join the search and rescue operation.

2 Coast Guard Ships including Samudra Prahari and Dornier aircraft are on search operation at Chennai sea.

Officials at the Ministry of Defence & Navy closely monitoring; All coastal security establishments in Andaman & Nicobar put on high alert.

The main aircraft purpose of an AN 32 is to transport cargoes over short and medium range air routes.
