WRWWO felicitates the all women staff of Matunga road station

Western Railway Women's Welfare Organisation (WRWWO) felicitates the all women staff of Matunga road station. Tanuja Kansal – President of WRWWO visited Matunga Road station and interacted with women staff. She was welcomed by President WRWWO Mumbai Division Sheela Satyakumar at Matunga Road station. It is the first station on WR to be manned by all women staff.

According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Tanuja Kansal visited Matunga Road station and personally interacted with all staff of the station. She also visited the Booking Office to understand how the work staff manages public interaction at counters. Women staff of Matunga Road station Archana Yadav Deputy Station Superintendent, Zoya Khan – Senior Assistant Commercial Clerk and Manjeet Bhosale – Ticket Examiner shared their experiences of managing the station run completely by women force. A skit was also performed by the ticket checking staff depicting how to deal with passengers found without ticket.

Kansal awarded two meritorious lady staff, Vaishali Sevekar – Chief Booking Supervisor and Archana Yadav – Deputy Station Superintendent with cash awards of Rs. 1500 each. Vaishali Severkar has displayed tremendous efforts, sincerity and dedication in her duties and has ensured smooth functioning of ticket counters. Archana Yadav has displayed great dedication in her duties and during the heavy rains on 9th June, 2021 she worked in the waterlogged condition to clamp points and ensure safe departure of long distance trains which were stranded due to heavy rainfall.

Kansal also awarded a group award of Rs. 25,000 to the women staff and shared words of encouragement to uplift the women employees to continue their hardwork. Executive members of Western Railway Women's Welfare Organisation were also present on this occasion.
