Union Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah today said that the cooperative movement cannot progress without transparency and the digital portal will serve that purpose.
He asserted that the digital portal would be useful in promoting cooperative-based economic progress, as well as strengthening the cooperative movement in the country.
Amit Shah was speaking in Pune after launching the digital portal of the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies today.
Praising Maharashtra’s contribution in the cooperative sector Mr. Shah further said that Maharashtra is capital of the cooperative sector.
He urged every cooperative sugar industry in the state to emphasize on production of ethanol.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who was present on the occasion, said that choosing Maharashtra and specially Pune for the inauguration of the portal is a matter of pride for Maharashtra.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Home Minister Amit Shah, the state is getting full support from the Centre for the all-round development of the state.
Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadanvis and Ajit Pawar, Union MoS for Cooperation B L Varma and Minister of Cooperation of Maharashtra Dilip Walse Patil were also present on the occasion.
