The 6 Battalion NDRF in Vadodara continue the rescue efforts in flood hit Maharashtra. Hundreds of people have been rescued safely by four teams from Vadodara in the flood-hit villages of Kolhapur district.

Correspondingly, the MLA from Kolhapur paid a courtesy visit to the team's landing site on Tuesday and heartily applauded their rescue services and encouraged them.

Giving this information, the Deputy Commander of 6 Battalion Mr. Anupam said that at present as the flood situation in the district and water is declining, the teams have been kept in the state as part of caution so that they can act in times of crisis.

The team visited the low lying areas of Ambawadi and Rajputwadi villages in the area on Tuesday and observed the situation. Anupam further said that as the situation in Kolhapur is improving, two of the four teams have been shifted to Sangli for rescue operations on the instructions of the Disaster Management Authority.
