Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a Congress leader, unveiled the Congress manifesto 'Unnati Vidhan Jan Ghoshna Patra-2022' a day before the first phase of the UP Assembly Elections 2022.

'Unnati Vidhan' is the third manifesto, following 'Mahila Vidhan' for women and 'Bharti Vidhan' for youth. When it comes to the main points, Priyanka claimed that if Congress wins power, it will waive farmer loans within ten days. She stated that the MSP for wheat and paddy would be Rs 2,500, while the MSP for cane would be Rs 400.

"Power bill will be halved and power dues will be waived off. We will give Rs 25,000 to families that have suffered due to Covid," she said. The Congress has offered 20 lakh employment to the youth, including 12 lakh government job openings. Women will be given a 40% job reserve. Treatment up to Rs 10 lakh would be free in the health sector.

For those affected by stray cattle, a compensation of Rs 3,000 will be given. The Congress General Secretary said, "Aid up to Rs 10 lakh will be given for any disease. Cow dung will be bought for Rs 2/kg, which will further be used in vermi-composting. Small and medium businesses were more affected, no support came from the government. We'll develop clusters and support them."

She also spoke about education, "School fees will be controlled, around 2 lakh vacant teaching seats will be filled. Teachers and 'Shiksha Mitra' will be regularized. Free education will be given to students of tribal and backward classes from KG to PG."

Traditional clusters, according to Priyanka, would be strengthened for small and medium-sized businesses. She cited the Baghpat tragedy, in which a couple attempted suicide owing to business losses, as an example of measures to enhance the industry.

The Congress has committed to put an end to job outsourcing and to regularise the employment of ad hoc personnel, such as sanitation workers. Slum residents will be given ownership of the land on which they live, and affordable homes for the middle class will be built. Village heads would be paid Rs 6,000 per month in the rural sector, while chowkidars will be paid Rs 5,000 per month.

Covid fighters who have died would be compensated with a sum of Rs 50 lakh. In the manifesto, divyangs are promised a monthly pension of Rs 3,000. Priyanka also declared that ex-servicemen will be given a seat in the Vidhan Parishad and that prosecutions against media would be dropped.

The UP Assembly Elections will begin on February 10 and will be held in seven parts. On March 10th, the votes will be counted.
