National Start-up Day will be observed on Saturday (January 15) and Sunday (January 16), according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi made the announcement at a video conference with more than 150 companies as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The Amrit Mahotsav is a week-long event "Celebrating Innovation Ecosystem".  The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is hosting the event from January 10 to 16, according to ANI.

The Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav commemorates the six-year anniversary of the Government of India's Startup India initiative, which was launched to catalyse startup culture and build a strong and inclusive ecosystem.

The meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi included startups from a variety of areas, including agriculture, health, enterprise systems, space, industry 4.0, security, fintech, and the environment, among others.
