Prime Minister Narendra Modi today distributed about 71 thousand appointment letters to newly inducted recruits through video conferencing today.
The Rozgar Mela was held at 45 locations across the country.
On the occasion, while addressing the new appointees, the Prime Minister said that Rozgar Mela is the government's endeavour to empower the youth and strengthen their participation in national development.
He said such Rojgar Mela reflects the government's commitment towards the youth.
He said, in the last nine years, the government has given utmost priority to make the government's recruitment process more transparent and fair.
The recruitments are taking place across Central Government Departments as well as State Governments and Union Territories.
The new recruits, selected from across the country, will join various positions and posts like Gramin Dak Sevaks, Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk, Junior clerk-cum-Typist, Junior Accounts Clerk, Assistant Section Officer, Tax Assistants, Inspectors, Nursing Officers, Principal, Assistant Professor, among others.
The Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord the highest priority to employment generation.
The Rozgar Mela is expected to act as a catalyst in further employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development.
The newly inducted appointees will also get an opportunity to train themselves through Karmayogi Prarambh, which is an online orientation course for all new appointees in various Government departments.
