New Update

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with Chief Ministers of Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram at 11 AM today via video conference. He will take stock of the COVID-19 situation in these states.

The Prime Minister's interaction is a part of his exercise to deal with the pandemic situation.

The Central government has been leading the fight against the global pandemic with a 'Whole of Government' and 'Whole of Society' approach. Last week, during the meeting of the Council of Ministers, the Prime Minister had expressed concern over the violation of Corona appropriate behaviour by the people. He cautioned that a single mistake will have far-reaching impacts and weaken the fight to overcome COVID-19.

Few days ago, the Union Home Secretary had also held a meeting with officials of the North Eastern States amid concerns over rising cases of coronavirus infection in the region. During the meeting, these States were advised to strictly monitor the situation at district and city level and take timely corrective measures, wherever any early sign of surge is noticed.
