Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana in Uttar Pradesh at 1 PM today through video conferencing.

Uttar Pradesh is celebrating 5th August 2021 as Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana Day. Massive awareness programme will be launched throughout the state to ensure that no beneficiary is left out from availing the benefits of the scheme.

Almost 15 crore beneficiaries of the state have been getting free ration through Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. Nearly 80 thousand Fair price shops in the state have been distributing food grains to the beneficiaries of the scheme. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also be present on the occasion.Today is also the first anniversary of the foundation laying ceremony of the grand temple in Ayodhya. Although the Prime Minister will not be in Ayodhya on this occasion physically but he will connect with the city of lord Rama virtually where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will himself be present and the statewide function will be organised here only.

The Prime Minister is also expected to interact with beneficiaries of various districts of state. The Function is being organised as 'Ann mahotsav' and the address of prime minister will be telecasted live at all the PDS shops of the state. State government is all set to make a record by distributing free ration under Pradhan mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana to around 1 crore beneficiaries from around 80 thousand fair price shops in a single day.

At least 100 beneficiaries are expected to gather at every fair price shop and instructions have been given to the administration for compliance of covid appropriate behaviour. Many ministers of state along with MPs, MLAs and other senior administrative officials will take part in the functions across the state. Beneficiaries will be given 5kg of free ration in a special bag on this occasion.
