The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported 14,313 new COVID-19 infections on Saturday morning (October 30, 2021), bringing the total active caseload to 1.61 lakh. Over the course of 24 hours, the active count increased by 221 instances.
Between Friday and Saturday morning, there were 549 coronavirus-related deaths and 13,543 recoveries, according to the Ministry.
"The Active caseload is presently at 1,61,555. Active cases presently constitute 0.47% of the country's total positive cases, which is lowest since March 2020," stated the Health Ministry in a statement.
"Sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs continue the trend of less than 50,000 daily new cases that is being reported for 125 consecutive days now," said the statement.
The overall number of recoveries in the country has now surpassed 3.36 crore, with 4,57,740 people killed. According to the Ministry of Health, comorbidities are responsible for more than 70% of mortality.
Meanwhile, India's vaccination coverage has now surpassed 105.43 crores, thanks to the delivery of 56,91,175 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours.
