The Government e-Marketplace (GeM) has crossed one lakh 50 thousand crore rupees in Gross Merchandise value in the current fiscal year.
GeM is an online platform for the procurement of goods and services by government departments, public sector units, and other agencies.
Since its inception in 2016, GeM has continuously been working towards promoting the Make in India initiative.
Talking to sources, CEO GeM, P K Singh expressed confidence that the Gross Merchandise value will be doubled in the current financial year as compared to the last financial year.
Sources reports that GeM has more than 29 lakh products, around two lakh 50 thousand services, and more than 59 thousand government buyer organisations.
