In Uttar Pradesh, an average voter turnout of 36.33 percent was registered till 1 PM in the Sixth Phase of Assembly Elections. Polling is progressing smoothly and will be conducted till 6.00 P.M. in the 57 Assembly Constituencies spread over 10 districts. The state is witnessing seven-phase elections.

Meanwhile, In Manipur few hours left for the political campaigning for second phase polls in the State, all the political parties have been engaging in a hectic political campaign today.

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has been campaigning in Thoubal and Jiribam districts of Manipur while leaders of Congress and other political parties have targeted the voters of hills districts.

AIR correspondent reports that among the political parties, BJP has been engaging in intensified political campaigns for the second phase elections in Manipur. This time, BJP has fielded its candidates in all the assembly constituencies. In the last general elections, BJP got only three seats from these twenty-two assembly constituencies.

Naga People's Fronts and Indian National Congress are seen as main rival political parties against the ambitious BJP. In the 2017 General Elections, Indian National Congress got thirteen seats out of the twenty-two seats.

The parties won 8 seats from ten assembly constituencies in Thoubal districts alone. This district is the hometown district of former Chief Minister and Congress supremo Okram Ibobi. Naga People's Fronts has filed ten candidates in hills districts in the second phase. In such a situation, the BJP party has given a special effort to woo the voters in the second phase.
