Following the Golden Temple incident, another incident of a man being beaten to death in a Gurudwara over an alleged sacrilege was reported on Sunday in Punjab's Kapurthala village (December 19). The police are looking into the situation.
When a group of individuals reported the event, the accused was allegedly attempting to tamper with the Nishan Sahib (the Sikhism sign) located within the Gurudwara.
According to ANI, the individual who allegedly perpetrated the desecration of Nishan Sahib was seen being assaulted by the people in a video that went viral.
After barging into the Golden Temple and attempting to desecrate the precious Guru Granth Sahib with a sword, a man was beaten to death in Amritsar.
Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Punjab's Deputy Chief Minister, promised a probe into the incident on Sunday, saying the suspects entered the Gurudwara with the goal of desecration.
Meanwhile, the Shiromani Akali Dal expressed dismay over the Golden Temple event and stated that the matter was fraught with controversy.
