    India Red won BCCI’s Senior Women Challenger trophy 2016-17 played at Motibaug cricket ground in Vadodara on Tuesday. The Red team won the match by 7 wickets and reached the winning target with 19 overs remaining.

    India Red won the toss and put the opposition India Blue team to bat first. The Blue team score 129 runs with the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs with S. Verma being the top scorer with 35 runs. From Red team Jhulan Goswami, S.K. Parida and Rajeshwari took two wickets each.

    In reply the India Red team score 131 for the loss of three wickets in 30.4 overs and won the match with seven wickets remaining. Smriti Mandhana was the top scorer with unbeaten 62 runs hitting four sixes and two fours. From the bowling side Bose took two wickets.
