India reached final after Herculeane knock from Harmanpreet

Its a super Sunday for the cricket crazy fans as India reached the finals of ICC Women's World Cup after beating the strong Australian team in the second Semi Final on Thursday. Harmanpreet Kaur played a valiant knock of unbeaten 171 and proved her mettle in the match. India will now play against England in the final.

In the second semi-final against Australia, India's star batsman Harmanpreet Kaur made history by playing an unbeaten innings of 171 runs hitting seven sixes and 20 boundaries. Harmanpreet Kaur gives her best ODI performance in the World Cup semi-final with the devastating knock and took the team to a strong position in the rain delayed match, the Indian team scored 281 in 42 overs.

Harmanpreet Kaur broke many records in the match. Kaur, who came to bat in a challenging situation kept her calm earlier and changed her gears in the later part of the innings hitting the Australian bowlers with aggression. She registered her name in the golden pages of history by making a century in the semi-final match.

Harmanpreet Kaur became first player to score 150+ runs from India in the knockout game of the World Cup. None of the men of India's men team has been able to carry out this feat. Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar and Indian Captain Virat Kohli also not able to achieve the feat till date. Apart from Kaur, only six players in the world play 150 or more innings in the ICC Knock Out.

Harmanpreet Kaur scored 171 against Australia, which is the highest individual score of any Indian batsman in the ICC Women's World Cup. Before Kaur, the record was in the name of team India captain Mitali Raj. Mithali scored 109 runs against New Zealand in this World Cup.

Harmanpreet's innings is the fourth highest innings played by any batsman in the history of women's World Cup. The record of the highest individual score in the World Cup is in the name of Australia's Belinda Clarke, who scored 229 against Denmark in the 1997 Women's World Cup.

After Harmanpreet Kaur scoring a century in the semi-final against Australia, she became the second player in the world to score a century in any knockout of the ICC World Cup. Before Kaur, Australia's Karen Rolton has the record as she scored an unbeaten 107 against India in the final of the 2005 World Cup. Apart from Rolton, none of the batsmen score a century in the ICC World Cup knockout.
