Inauguration of New ladies waiting room at Vadodara Railway Station

Foundation laying ceremony of station redevelopment also held

As part of providing better facilities to the passengers the Vadodara division is going through major redevelopment at the railway station. As part of that a new ladies waiting room was inagurated on Monday. The newly constructed waiting room has modern interiors, photo frame, artificial plants, baby care room for

lactating mothers, seating arrangement for 21 persons, decorative light fittings, 02 toilets, 01 bathroom and 03 wash basins.

The approximate cost of work is Rs.7.00 lakhs and renovation work of general waiting room and expansion of AC waiting rooms are also planned to be taken up shortly. These facilities greatly help the passengers halting at the station.

Secondly Bhoomi Pujan of Re-development of Vadodara Railway station was also done planned to be undertaken at a cost of Rs.17.99 Crores.The project shall be carried out in two phases.

The highlights of the project are :

Upgradation of Facade, Providing covered pathway for movement of passengers from entry gate to concourse and nominated parking place, Beautification of entry & exit gates to station, Development of information gallery for passengers information, Provision of divyang friendly facilities, Providing aesthetic and elegant look by granite flooring, false ceiling in concourse and platform area, Renovation of waiting hall, improvement of passenger amenities like water points, toilets etc., Exclusive food court adjoining waiting rooms, Display of famous local arts of Vadodara and selfie points.

After redevelopment the visit to thr Vadodara railway station will be a memorable experience of the passengers.
