A Hawk trainer aircraft of Indian Air Force crashed after it took off from Kalaikunda airbase of West Bengal for a routine training mission on 4 August.

After take off the aircraft developed unserviceability resulting into a crash.

Luckily both the pilots of the aircraft ejected safely before the plane crash. There are no reports of damage on the ground. It crashed inside the boundary of the base.

Noted that Last month, a transport plane of the IAF – AN-32 – went missing shortly after take-off from Chennai. It was carrying 29 people to Port Blair.

A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident.
