Husband killed wife on suspicion of having an affair

Investigation underway to arrest the accused

A husband with the help of friends strangled his wife to death with a pillow in Baranpura Chunarwas area in Vadodara city. Doubt his wife having an affair comes out as the reason behind the murder. The accused told the daughter not to cry and he will bring another mother for her, as he woke up during the crime.

Amit Chunara, a resident of Baranpura Chunaravas, is selling vegetables to support his wife, two daughters and 11-year-old son. Amit’s eldest daughter lived in Akbarpur village of Khambhat taluka, while the other one and son lives with their parents.

For some time now, Amit has been suspected his wife of having an affair with one person from Khambhat. Due to which there were frequent quarrels between the two. Meanwhile, early morning on Friday the husband with the help of friends strangled his sleeping wife to death with a pillow.

The wife tried to escape as her husband was pressing her mouth with the pillow. Meanwhile their daughter sleeping in the other room woke up by the sound and saw her father with his two friends killing her mother and began to cry.

Amit, who killed his wife, told his crying daughter, “Don’t cry, I will bring another mom for you. And if you tell anyone I will kill you too.” He then fled from the spot after giving the money to his friends helped him in the crime.

The frightened daughter said, “I saw my father sitting on the chest of my mother and chocked her with a pillow. I woke up as mom’s breath was suffocating and her legs hit her hard. I woke up and my father threatened to kill me if I tried to tell anyone and bring another mother for me.”

Meanwhile, people gathered at the place after the news of the incident spread in the area. The family of the deceased also reached the spot after the message. On the other hand, Wadi police also reached the spot after the incident was reported and took possession of the body and sent it to Sayaji Hospital for postmortem.

A.C.P. S.G. Patil said, Amit Chunara, a resident of Baranpura Chunaravas, had a doubt that his wife Sapna had an affair with a man from Khambhat. In suspicioncion he killed his wife by pressing her mouth with a pillow around 5 am this morning. An investigation is underway into whether Amit took help of someone else to kill his wife.

Police have registered a case of murder against Amit Chunara and are in the process of arresting him. Other details will come out after the killer is arrested.
