Honda to recall 1,90,578 cars to replace faulty airbag of Takata

Japanese auto car maker company Honda is recalling the previous generation of Accord, CR-V, Civic, Honda City and Jazz models in India. Honda recalling cars due to its global exercise to rectify faulty airbags made by Takata.

The Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) announced that it will voluntarily replace Takata passenger front airbag inflators in these models which are manufactured between 2003 and 2011.

The replacement will be carried out at HCIL dealerships across India with zero charge. Replacement of airbags for CR-V and Civic will start soon and for other models it will start from September 2016. Company will communicate with customers directly, HCIL said in a statement.

Around the world millions of vehicles recalled due to defective safety airbag manufactured by Takata Corp, which included car makers from BMW, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Nissan and Toyota.
