Things have worsened due to heavy rains in various parts of Mumbai and Thane. Since Tuesday morning the city received heavy rainfall of 3.32 meters. The heavy rain disaster management team, BMC Control Room is on alert in Mumbai. Water has penetrated in many parts of Mumbai and water logging situation has arisen.

In Mumbai, the situation worse as places like – Hindmata, Dadar, Elphinstone area, Andheri East, Wadala, Jogeshwari station, Khar West, Jogeshwari, Andheri recieved heavy water fall. Traffic jams have also seen on Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road.

Weather officials believe that this is nine times of usual rains in Mumbai and after heavy rains since July 26, 2005. At that time the city was devastated by floods. Even now Mumbai is submerged in water. The rain continue from the morning and if it continues till the evening, then there is a possibility of flooding, traffic jams on roads.

The Met department advice the people not to go out from the house if it’s necessary as there is a warning of High tide also.
