Health forest at Kevadia become a source of employment for local youth

380 species of Five lakh medicinal seedlings have been raised in health forest spread over 15 acres

The world’s tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Kevadia known as Statue of Unity becomes a major tourist destination for people all across the world. Various projects have been implemented for the integrated development of the under the far-sighted planning of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As a result, today Kevadia Holistic Tourism Development, a symbol of world unity, has become a center of attraction for global tourists as well as an excellent means of providing home-based employment for local tribal youth. Presently 37 local youths are getting employment in Health Forest.

Today we want to talk about the Health forest which is attracting tourists from home and abroad and highlighting the medicinal splendor of India and to learn about India’s ancient Ayurvedic health system and excellent health with various medicinal plants. The forest also create employment opportunities for the local youths.

When you enter this health forest, the local guide gives us a warm welcome in a melodious setting and provides detailed information about the medicinal plants grown in the health forest. These young men and women are not from any big city but from Kevadia and surrounding areas who have been provided employment here as per their qualifications. They are happy after getting employment here.

12th pass Bhaveshbhai Tadvi of Phulwadi worked here as a day labourer during the construction is now worked in Garden of Colors at Health forest. As a guide he provide detailed information about the Garden of Colors to the tourists coming there to Health Forest.

Bhavesh Tadvi says, he used to work here, but now happy to be selected as a guide by the forest department according to his qualifications. Not only that he no longer have to go elsewhere for employment and able to improve his standard of living.

The story of Ravina Tadvi of Samsherpura is something different. After passing Std. 12, Ravina did computer course, but failed to get any job. Apart from being a guide at Health forest, Ravina also runs a golf cart and had the opportunity to welcome the President of India Ram Nath Kovind. She delighted to share about the happy moment for a young lady from a normal household like her. Her father works in agriculture and she has helped her family financially after get employment near her home.

In Arogyavan, a medicine human has been created in a length and width of 80 X 40. Standard 8th pass Raviraj Tadvi gives information about medicinal plants useful in diseases from head to human feet. The medicinal uses and characteristics of each plant are reflected in its texture.

Margi Patel from Suka village studied fashion design and guides the tourists about Health forest at the Digital Information Center. She also had the opportunity to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi and give details about the medicinal plants in Arogyavan. Margi says that it is a matter of great pride for her. Hetal Patel from Suka village informs the tourists about the medicinal plants in the indoor plant which purifies the environment.

Considering the health and well-being of the human community, this health forest with different Vedic trees is spread over 17 acres. Yoga, Ayurveda and meditation are given special importance in the health forest. Five lakh medicinal seedlings of 380 different species have been planted there in the forest.

The forest includes Lotus Lake, Garden of Colors, Alba Garden, Lutia Garden, Aroma Garden, Yoga and Meditation, Indoor Plant Section, Digital Information Center, Souvenir Shop, Cafeteria and others. Be sure to pay a visit to the Health Forest when visiting the Statue of Unity and don’t forget to enjoy the dishes, especially in the cafeteria run by the self-help group of tribal girls.

Tourists benefit from a variety of nature therapies by doctors and specialist staff from Kerala at the Health Wellness Center. In the health forest, tourists experience being in the lap of nature as well as physical well-being.

Health Forest is located at the foot of the Vindhyachal Range with dense teak forest nearby. There is a special arrangement to enjoy the view of sunrise and sunset. It is in this place that one realizes about the talents among the tribal youth.
