During the celebration of Vadodara’s 506 birthday there are various exhibitions by the collectors of city is on display.

Among all the collections a display by artist and historian Chandrashekhar Patil of old Vadodara city is worth a watch. The display gallery give you the feeling of the our own city and it’s beauty.

Patil has over 35,000 collections of old photographs of old Vadodara which takes you to the era of rich heritage and culture. From Laxmi Vilas Palace to old buildings at its original shape in the picture are a treat to watch and even one can want to have that collection of pictures in their library.

“The collection of pictures are about old Vadodara dated between 1850 to 1951. Its my personal collection which I collected from people having private collection of photographs for the last 19 years or so. In the picture you find old Baroda, buildings, monuments, Baroda state, people and antiquities,” said Patil.

The collection is really worth a watch as specially the young generation can know about their old rich heritage by comparing them with the modern structures and the old buildings at its present shape. Specially the iconic Nazarbaug palace which was demolished couple of years ago for a modern commercial complex.
