A half-Indian beauty, Priyanka Yoshikawa was crowned the winner of Miss Japan on Monday night.
22-year-old Priyanka Yoshikawa’s win continued the trend of controversy that Japanese-African Ariana Minamoto kicked off since her win in Miss Universe Japan 2015.
Ms Yoshikawa has a qualification in training elephants was born in Tokyo to an Indian father and Japanese mother.
Ms Miyamoto's win in 2015 was swiftly greeted by Internet commentators singling out her ethnicity for criticism.
